Take one look at Niska and you’ll see an individual that has taken the time to understand who she is as a person and how to translate that to her music and the stage. The Haitian-bred musician has been honing her sound, defining her image, and establishing the voice she wants to have as an artist, all the while strengthening her skillset and maturing exponentially since her last full project release. Surrounded by the distinct sounds of reggae, pop, hip hop, R&B, along with her native Kompa music the English/French/Creole speaking MC had a foundation built early on nourishing her love for music and the arts. After holing up for the past year Niska decided to release a series of songs to gauge how the public would respond. Niska’s sincere takes on A$AP Rocky’s “Fuckin’ Problems” and J. Cole’s “Rich Nigg*s” and her own original songs were so well received that a program was developed for a monthly music series of all new content. Niska and her team are now gearing up to take on 2014 head first, aiming to release her second mixtape in the third or fourth quarter.
